Spring Meeting – Priceville, AL

April 24, 2008

President Danny Musick called the meeting to order at 8:00 am and Leslie Blaylock led a prayer.  Minutes from the last meeting were read and approved, and the treasurer’s report was read and approved.  

Carolyn Blaylock thanked Nell Brown for an outstanding effort with the RHBAA website.  She reported that a membership list was posted as well as photos and other information. 

The fall Fun Show was the first topic of discussion.  Leslie Blaylock agreed to serve as the Show Chairman this year, Dian Crawford and LeAnn Musick will coordinate the awards.  Donations will be accepted from any participant but there will be no entry fee charged.  Mr. Blaylock will ask for the arena Thursday morning at 9:00 am. 

Carolyn Blaylock reported that only four (4) of the five (5) available horse show sponsorships had been applied for.  Dian Crawford asked if the Fun Show could have the last $ 75.00 to use for Fun Show awards.   After a brief discussion, Bill Harris made a motion to use $75.00 for fun show awards, Debbie Morris gave a 2^nd.  All approved, motion passed.

President Musick passed around a sign-up sheet for silent auction booth workers.  He asked everyone to have there items at the table before 6 pm. 

Ed Heirs was present to discuss an offer that had been made to the RHBAA to purchase Celebration Arena and RHBAA property.  There was a lengthy discussion about the offer as well as the refinancing of RHBAA debt and extra money borrowed to cover the warm-up ring.  After all questions were asked and answered Mr. Heirs asked for an endorsement from the Pleasure Association to proceed with the sale.   President Musick asked for a show of hands and all members present voted to endorse the sale.
